The Pale of the Natural Landscape
The pale of the natural landscape refers to the natural equilibrium or natural order of a place. The pale of the natural landscape is marked as such by either a human guardian, a donor or the owner of the place. Pale of the natural landscape is derived from the expression beyond the pale which is a phrase referring to unacceptable behavior. See Pale for further information.
